Our Therapy Approach

At Orka Mind and Wellness, our name reflects our core belief: that healing is a return to energy, vitality, and inner strength. “Orka,” the Icelandic word for energy, speaks to the powerful, life-giving force within each of us. Our work is dedicated to helping you reconnect with that force—gently, intentionally, and with compassion.

 

We offer an eclectic, nature-based approach to therapy, grounded in the understanding that healing is not one-size-fits-all. Drawing from modalities such as person-centred therapy, mindfulness, somatic practices, cognitive-behavioural tools, expressive arts, and depth psychology, we tailor each session to the needs of the individual or family system.

 

Nature is central to our philosophy. Whether sessions take place outdoors or simply incorporate natural imagery, rhythms, and metaphors, we honour the restorative relationship between human beings and the natural world. Nature offers not only grounding and regulation but also mirrors growth, change, and resilience in profound ways.
